Montrose wins title at Gypsum Creek

Led by Zane Sauer’s 1-under-par 71 and runner-up finish, Montrose won the team title Wednesday at the Eagle Valley Invitational boys golf tournament.

Montrose finished with 227 strokes, two better than Steamboat Springs, in the field of 13 teams at Gypsum Creek Golf Club. Tanner Creel shot a 77 to tie for seventh place, and Glen-Michael Mihavetz shot a 79 to round out the Indians’ team score.

Vail Christian’s Cooper Gould won the individual title with a 4-under 68.
