Rhoten fails to make Enduro X finals

Montrose’s Eric Rhoten, racing in his second straight X Games Los Angeles, competed in the Enduro X competition on Sunday but failed to make the 12-rider finals.

In the last chance qualifier, one rider went down in the first corner, causing several riders to come to a stop to try and get around. Rhoten was one of the riders who fell behind at the first corner. He finished 10th about four seconds behind the winner.

Rhoten, 28, was one of 30 riders who qualified for the X Games Enduro X compeitition.

Kinnaman finishes in 20th place

Donny Kinnaman of Grand Junction wrapped up The Optimist International Junior Golf Championships in a tie for 20th on Sunday.

Competing against some of the top junior golfers from around the country, Kinnaman finished with a final round 76 at the PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He shot 75-76-74-76 to card a 301 total for the tournament

Kinnaman, who will be a junior at Grand Junction High School, will soon begin the high school golf season.
