Game time changed for GJ Gladiators
The Grand Junction Gladiators have switched the American Professional Football League II championship game to next Saturday, Aug. 17, with the kickoff set for 6 p.m.
Grand Junction will play the Mile High Hurricanes, which placed second in the regular-season league standings.
The game, originally scheduled for today, was changed after some confusion about which team would host the title game.
The Gladiators went undefeated in the regular season at 7-0 and scored 20 fourth-quarter points to beat Northern Colorado 26-3 in its first-round playoff game.
Grand Junction, now in its fourth season, won the APFL2 championship last year and is going for a second straight title.
Lincoln Park lot closed next week
The parking lot at Lincoln Park will be closed next week, Monday through Friday, for chip seal and striping. The entrance off 12th Street will be closed all week. The entrance off Gunnison Avenue will be open for access to the Grand Junction Parks and Recreation offices and to Mantlo Circle at the Lincoln Park Golf Course.
People planning to use Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool or the Lincoln Park track next week should park either along Gunnison or neighboring side streets.
