Grand Valley Thunderbird athletes perform well at state indoor meet

Several members of the Grand Valley Thunderbird Track & Field Club placed at the USATF Colorado Association Indoor Championships on Saturday at the University of Colorado’s Balch Fieldhouse.

In the girls 15-19 age group, 18-year-old Whitney Jackson took fifth in the long jump (17 feet, 2 inches), fifth in the triple jump (33-11.5) and seventh in the 60-meter dash (8.26 seconds after qualifying in 8.14 seconds). Ali Jameson, 17, finished 10th in the 60 hurdles (10.3 seconds), while Niki Hunt, 18, was 11th in the 60 hurdles (10.41 seconds).

In the boys 15-19 age group, 16-year-old Rylan Miller placed ninth in the triple jump (33-11.75) and 13th in the long jump (16-5.75).
