Gene Taylor’s splits doubleheader
The Gene Taylor’s legion baseball team split a pair of games Thursday, winning 8-7 over Cheyenne Post 6 and losing 10-4 to Cherry Creek.

Crow also earned the win despite walking seven batters and allowing six hits in five innings. Tyler Sandoval pitched the final 1 1/3 innings, striking out three batters, to get the save.
Zanski, Zane Abeyta, Tristan Lafferty and Quincy Campbell each had two hits to lead Gene Taylor’s 13-hit attack.
Against Cherry Creek, Gene Taylor’s took a 3-2 lead after two innings, but Cherry Creek put the game away with five runs in the top of the seventh.
Both teams had nine hits, but the only player for Gene Taylor’s (10-2-1) with more than one was Kenny Wood with two hits. Sinjin Garrett pitched all seven innings and took the loss.
