Mesa men pull away in second half

Colorado Mesa scored six consecutive goals in the second half to pull away for an 8-4 victory over Notre Dame de Namur in a Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association men’s game Thursday evening in Belmont, Calif.

Sophomore attacker Austin Pridham led the Mavericks (3-2, 1-0 WILA) with three goals, all in the third period. It was his second consecutive hat trick.

Kade Robinson scored two goals, and Dylan Duresky had one goal and one assist. Mesa goalie Brad Brandenburg had 14 saves.

The Argonauts (2-4, 0-2 WILA) led 3-2 at halftime but didn’t score again until 6:20 left in the fourth quarter.

Colorado Mesa plays at Dominican (Calif.) University (2-4, 1-0 WILA) at noon Saturday in San Rafael, Calif.
