Ron Williams elected new chairman of board

Ron Williams has been elected chairman of the board of the Western Stock Show Association.

“We lost a great man last week with the passing of Jerry McMorris, but today the board has added another great leader in Ron Williams,” said Paul Andrews, president and CEO of the National Western Stock Show and Complex. “Ron will be a real asset to the leadership of the Executive Committee and was a unanimous choice for chairman at our annual meeting (Friday).”


BMX Racing

Race for Life is today at fairgrounds


Grand Valley BMX is having its annual Race for Life to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society today at the BMX track at the Mesa County Fairgrounds.

Anyone who can ride a bike can participate. Riders need a BMX-style bicycle or mountain bike, helmet, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphona Society.

A free clinic for all interested new riders takes place from 2-4 p.m., registration and practice is 5–6 p.m., and racing begins at 6:15.
