Seven Fruita players make All-4A Mountain League first team

Fruita’s two-pronged rushing attack and the linemen who made it possible were among the Wildcats’ players to earn All-4A Mountain Conference honors.

The Wildcats’ finished the season 7-5, falling to Chatfield in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Fruita had the best rushing offense in Class 4A this season — third regardless of classification — and were led by two of the top rushers in the state, both of whom earned first-team spots.

Running back Braeden Graham finished with 1,633 yards, third in 4A, as well as 19 touchdowns, also third in the classification. Fullback Logan Triplett had 1,289 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Linemen Cole Cromer and Zakil Nkana were also first-team selections, as was linebacker Keaton Kerstetter and safety Travis Newland. Do-everything player Kyle Fineran earned the first-team nod as a kick returner.

Linebackers Ty Bird and Daniel Van Hoose, defensive lineman JR Avila, tight end Jeremy Cutright and kicker Marcus Mosnes were second-team picks.

Cason Gisner, Daniel Haas, Casey Hudson, Kaeden Abbott, Klay Carville and Zach Rush were honorable mention selections.
