Grand Junction finishes sixth in South Conference Championship
Grand Junction High School finished sixth out of 30 teams competing in the South Conference Championship race in Nathrop this past weekend.
Grand Junction also finished sixth in the conference series. Fruita Monument was 12th in the race and 10th in the conference and Palisade, a team consisting of only freshman, finished 23rd in the event and the conference series.
Clark Willis placed sixth in the varsity boys race with a time of 1 hours, 43 minutes, 11.667 seconds, less than eight minutes behind the winner in the grueling race.
Next up is the state championship race in Eagle on Oct. 22.
