CMU hosting benefit for Teixeira

Colorado Mesa’s baseball team is sponsoring a Zumbathon benefit and bone marrow drive for Ryan Teixeira, who is fighting leukemia.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the front desk of the Hamilton Recreation Center at the Maverick Center. The Zumbathon is from 6:30-9 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Brownson Arena. All proceeds will benefit Teixeira, a redshirt freshman who is at UCLA Medical Center receiving treatment and awaiting a bone marrow transplant.

The bone marrow test is a simple saliva swab, and those tested will be put into a national registry.
