Bamford memorial tourney still has room for some more players

Spots are available for the second annual Mike Bamford Memorial Golf Tournament on Sept. 15 at the Golf Club at Redlands Mesa.

Spots are $125 per player, $500 for a foursome, and hole sponsorships are $100.

The tournament is named for Mike Bamford, a Grand Junction High School golfer who died during his senior year after a long battle with cancer and cystic fibrosis.

The tournament is dedicated to supporting families with children who are battling critical illnesses. It also provides scholarships to golfers. Grand Junction High School golfers Garrett Harrison and Keith Rockwood received scholarships after the inaugural tournament last year.
