Taco Bell entries due Friday
Entries for the annual Taco Bell Western Slope Open, scheduled July 20-25, are due by Friday.
The tournament is open to players of all ages and abilities and includes family events. The entry fee is $25 for the first event, $20 for the second event and $15 for the third event.

Mavs 12-under team qualifies for Triple Crown World Series
The Mavs 12-under baseball team won the Omaha Slumpbuster tournament, qualifying for the Triple Crown World Series later this month in Steamboat Springs.
The Mavs went 5-1, losing 10-6 to a team from Dallas, beating Frozen Rope (Neb.) 14-13, the Utah Blackhawks 14-10, Cache Valley Bees 7-2 and Colorado Springs Falcons 5-2 to reach the championship game. The Mavs won that game 6-5 over the McHenry County Outlaws, a team from the Chicago area.
The Slumpbuster was played the same time as the College World Series, allowing the Mavs to attend some of the games at Rosenblatt Stadium. The tournament attracted 489 teams, ranging in age from 9-18.
Steve Day, Brian Shaver, Andy Zanski and Matt Miller coach the Mavs, with Ryan Day, Austin Higley, Carlon Vendegna, Ethan Keller, Ben Haver, Branden Shaver, Jacob Wilcox, Lane Koetter, Andrew Hansen, Collin Sowell and Tyson Zanski playing on the team. Colby Keller is the Mavs’ batboy.
