Harris is RMAC player of week

Colorado Mesa goalkeeper Arielle Harris is the RMAC women’s soccer defensive player of the week.

The senior from Phoenix recorded a shutout with two saves against Nebraska-Kearney on Friday and made eight saves on Sunday in a 3-1 victory over Regis.

The Mavericks (3-3, 2-0 RMAC) play at 1 p.m. today at 18th-ranked Fort Lewis (5-0-1, 2-0 RMAC) in Durango.

College Volleyball

Fruita grad Kovach is Otero JC athlete of week for Sept. 5-11

Former Fruita Monument High School standout Camille Kovach was the Otero Junior College athlete of the week for Sept. 5-11.

The freshman outside hitter had a total of 54 kills, 53 digs and had a perfect serve percentage (46 of 46) in five matches.

The Rattlers were 5-0 that week, including four wins in their own tournament.
