Herl wins RMAC weekly award

Jase Herl, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, was selected the RMAC West Division player of the week after averaging 16.5 points a game last weekend in Mesa State’s two victories.

Herl also had 14 assists and nine rebounds in the two games. Mesa State hosts its annual Clarion Inn Thanksgiving Tip-off Friday and Saturday at Brownson Arena.

Donte Nicholas of Metro State is the East Division player of the week. The Roadrunners play the Mavericks at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.


Younger closest to prediction

Dave Younger was closest to his prediction as he won Saturday’s Tom Turkey Prediction Run in Grand Junction.

Younger predicted a time of 39 minutes, 44 seconds. He finished one second under that prediction. Christina Horn placed second, four seconds under her predicted time of 54:00.

Marty Wacker had the fastest finish, completing the six-mile course in 36:04.
