Mesa women in fourth at RMAC meet

Mesa State’s Katie Wedel won the 200-yard individual medley to lead the 25th-ranked Mavericks to fourth place Thursday in the RMAC Championships in Arvada.

Mesa State is in fourth place with 190 points. The Mesa men are in fifth 42 points.

Wedel had a B standard time of 2:11.97 in the IM. She could qualify for nationals if she’s on a relay team that posts an A standard time.

Kelly Hogan took third in the 500 freestyle with a B standard time of 5:15.53. Rebecca Reed placed third in the 50 freestyle and Mesa’s 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay each placed third.

The meet continues through Saturday.
