Moffat County tops Central

Moffat County used its size and strength to its advantage, defeating Central 5-1 on Monday in Craig.

“It was a rough game,” Central coach Jacob Pingel said. “They are a big, physical team. They pushed us around.”

Lanie Ferguson scored the Warriors’ only goal with four minutes left. Goalkeeper Robbie Termentozzi made five saves.

Tigers fall to Battle Mountain

Grand Junction fell behind early and could never overcome a slow start.

Battle Mountain (12-2) held on to an early lead to defeat the Tigers 12-10 in a make-up game Monday in Edwards.

“(The Huskies) came out fast,” Grand Junction coach James States said. “They scored five goals in like three minutes.”

Grand Junction (9-6) was led by Kris States and Luke Olson with four goals each. Evan Mok-Lamme scored two.
