Thieszen leads ‘Dogs past Delta

Morgan Thieszen had 22 kills as Palisade bounced back from a first-game loss to defeat Delta 25-27, 25-16, 25-23, 25-14 in Western Slope League volleyball Tuesday night.

Shannon Rhodes led the league-leading Bulldogs (12-5, 8-1 WSL) with 39 assists, Courtney Clark had a team-high 28 digs, and Tahverle Hodges added 23 digs and six aces.

■ MacKenzie Schuller had 16 kills to lead Fruita Monument to a 25-22, 25-13, 25-20 victory over Central in Southwestern League play.

Loryn Chiapuzio added nine kills, Jen Morris topped the league-leading Wildcats with 30 assists, and Joelle LeFevre had 26 digs.

■ Grand Junction won two of the first three games, but Montrose rallied to beat the Tigers 23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 15-5 in an SWL match.

Mikayla O’Brien led the Tigers in kills with 12 and Ashley Preuss, Rachel Stahl and Margaret Harris each had nine kills. Stahl led Grand Junction with 38 digs, and Lacee Kilgore had 24 assists.

Boys soccer

Glenwood Springs defeated Central 6-3 in a nonleague match Tuesday.
