Tigers repeatedly find the net in easy victory

Grand Junction’s girls soccer team had no problem finishing Tuesday.

Three days after failing to mark up tight on defense and put shots away on offense, the Tigers defeated Montrose 6-0 in a Southwestern League game in Montrose.

“After this weekend, the girls made a commitment to come out today and play tough,” Grand Junction coach Adrea Tilford said. “The defense played very well the entire game. It was great to see them come out and play hard.

“The offense started to click and I was very pleased with the way the girls finished. We didn’t have very many shots on goal, but we converted.”

Grand Junction (9-2, 7-1 SWL) scored on six of its 11 shots on goal. The Tigers limited Montrose (5-6-1, 2-4-1 SWL) to three shots.
