Truck wreck closes I-70

Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed for several hours Saturday afternoon and evening after a tractor-trailer crashed and caused a five-acre brush fire, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department.

The crash happened near mile marker 106 east of New Castle and traffic was rerouted to U.S. Highway 6. The cause was not known Saturday night.

Colorado State Patrol and Burning Mountains Fire Protection responded.
