United Way wants to raise $1.2 million
Mesa County Pacesetter companies have pledged $466,122
United Way of Mesa County announced Wednesday early donors have pledged $466,122 for the 2010-11 fundraising campaign, an amount just below the contributions raised at this time last year.
The amount raised by the 34 Pacesetter companies represents 39 percent of United Way’s $1.2 million goal this year. Last year at this time, 36 companies had donated $478,113 on the way to United Way raising $1.1 million.
Nonprofit officials said Pacesetter companies generally contribute 40 to 45 percent of the overall campaign.
“We are so grateful to the Pacesetter companies and agencies that worked so hard to carry the message of the importance of United Way to their employees,” campaign co-chair Debe Colby said. Workplace campaigns are the heart of the United Way’s annual fall campaign. This response is evidence of the everyday employee understand of the great need in our community and a willingness to share.”
