Western Slope men arrested in connection with slaying in Springs

Two Delta men and a Montrose man have been arrested in conjunction with the shooting death of a man at a Colorado Springs motel, Colorado Springs police announced Friday afternoon.

Swayde Monroe Jones, 25, of Delta; Michael David Brown, 27, of Delta; and Christopher Ryan Dickerson, 26, of Montrose are in custody on suspicion of first-degree murder. They’re accused of killing James Klinger, a guest whose body was found inside a Clarion Inn in Colorado Springs on March 15. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide from a gunshot wound, police announced Friday on the department’s Facebook page.

Police said they aren’t seeking any additional suspects at this time.

No other information about what led police to Jones, Brown and Dickerson was immediately available.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 719-444-7000 or Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.
