Western State rallies to defeat CMU women

GUNNISON — Western State opened the second half on a 14-3 run and held on to defeat the Colorado Mesa women’s basketball team 75-64 at Paul Wright Gym.

The Mountaineers (8-9, 7-4 RMAC) shot 50 percent in the second half. Brooke Pendergraft led Western with 20 points. Nikki Trujillo added 18 points.

Kelsey Sigl led the Mavericks (8-7, 6-5 RMAC) with 19 points. Katrina Selsor scored 15.
