Jonathan Piron began the 2016 season at Class A Asheville, but struggled with his swing. Piron was sent back to Grand Junction, where he shined in 2015, to work out the kinks. Piron has made the necessary adjustments, collecting a hit in every game he has played so far for the Rockies.

Making the adjustments

Back in GJ, Piron has made changes to counteract early season struggles

After a rough start to the 2016 season, Jonathan Piron had to get his mind right and his swing back.
The 2015 Pioneer League All Star for the Grand Junction Rockies didn’t fare well after his first promotion, hitting .187 in 37 games with Class A Asheville. He was swinging for the fences and his speed on the bases, something he was known for in Grand Junction and the Dominican Summer League, completely vanished. He had one stolen base during his time in North Carolina.
