Montrose coach takes blame for 4th-down call

If you ask the coaches, last Friday’s game between Grand Junction and Montrose, which the Tigers won 14-10, was decided by two play calls on fourth down.
The second decided the game, with Grand Junction coach Robbie Owens calling a fake punt on fourth and long. Once converted, it allowed the Tigers to run out the clock.
The first, which ended up hurting Montrose, came early in the second quarter.
On fourth down, with four yards to go from Montrose’s ?47-yard line, Montrose coach Jim Scarry opted to go for it. Indians senior quarterback Dylan Atwood was sacked, and Grand Junction got the ball.
