The CMU volleyball team was back at work Monday, with Casey Ball working on passing drills. The Mavericks are ranked No. 23 in the nation, the first time they’ve been ranked in Dave Fleming’s coaching career at CMU.

Wins over top-10 teams vault Mavs into national rankings

Three wins over top-10 nationally ranked programs was enough.
Colorado Mesa’s volleyball team cracked the American Volleyball Coaches Association top 25 on Monday after wins last weekend over then-No. 5 Central Missouri and No. 10 Southwest Minnesota State.
The Mavericks (6-2) are ranked 23rd in the nation.
It is the first time under coach Dave Fleming the Mavericks are nationally ranked. This is Fleming’s 10th year as the head coach.
“We beat three top-10 teams, I think we deserve to be in there,” Fleming said Monday.
