Mesa tops Adams for second straight RMAC title

The hot streak the Colorado Mesa University men’s lacrosse team has been on carried it to its second consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular-season championship Sunday afternoon.

The first of Jack Griffin’s game-high four goals sparked a game-deciding run for Mesa, which beat Adams State 10-4 at Walker Field to ensure itself conference title and the right to host the RMAC tournament.

Steve Brandenburg, a senior attacker and the conference’s leading scorer, scored his two goals during the 7-0 run Griffin started. That run gave the 18th-ranked Mavericks (13-2, 8-1 RMAC) the lead for good.
