As the entire Grand Junction Challenger team and buddies greet Spencer Campbell after his game-ending home run Saturday at the Little League World Series, Tanner Casteel turns to salute his family in the stands. The Challenger team greatly enjoyed their trip to South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Adventure of a lifetime

Playing on Little League World Series stage a once-in-a-lifetime experience for GJ Challenger team

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — They danced their way into the hearts of a nearly packed Volunteer Stadium at the Little League World Series.
As “Happy” played over the loudspeaker Saturday before the Challenger exhibition baseball game, Katie Petty and her buddy, Lane LaCrone, started dancing.
Then, Katie broke off into her own dance. She was soon joined by Lindsay Habliston and Tawni Smith, much to the delight of their teammates, coaches, parents and everyone who came out to watch the special-needs players from Grand Junction and Camp Hill, Pennsylvania play baseball.
