GJ improves to 3-0 with win over ’Cats in physical game

Garrison Corn had to work against his instincts Wednesday night.
Like most soccer players who find open space up the wing, eventually working toward the net, the Grand Junction High School sophomore thought about shooting with roughly 14 minutes remaining in the game.
Instead, Corn dribbled deeper up the wing before cutting back toward the top of the penalty box as he neared the end line. Corn reached the top left corner of the penalty box and beat his defender to the middle of the field with a gorgeous touch, dumping a short pass to sophomore Abram Sanchez.
