Katherine oversees the workflow of print advertising from concept to prepress. She also offers creative and technical support to advertisers and staff.
Associate’s Degree in the Occupational Studies of Advertising Design in 1988 from The Colorado Institute of Art, in Denver. She continues to build on her education through classes and seminars on computer graphics, photography, marketing and fine art.
Katherine is a native of Bolton Landing, N.Y., but has lived most of her adult life in Colorado. She has worked in both printing and newspaper environments. She started her career in 1989 at Haapenen/Burkett Inc. in Gurnee, Ill., as a graphic designer and client liaison creating various print material for accounts ranging from local governments and nonprofits to Abbott Laboratories and Baxter Healthcare. Projects included trade shows, presentation pieces and travel programs for domestic and international scientific research, sales and medical conferences. Katherine moved to Grand Junction in 2002 and joined The Daily Sentinel in 2006, becoming lead graphic artist in 2008.
As an avid hiker, Katherine combines her passions of photography, ancient people, the great outdoors and spending time with friends to create fine art photography reflecting the marvels of the natural world. Her two grown sons, AJ and Teagan, also live in Colorado and are both creative and adventurous.
