Allen is a Colorado native. He has been an employee at the Sentinel since 2000. He has worked in the newspaper business since 1991 with stints at the Elko (Nevada) Daily Free Press and St. George (Utah) Spectrum.
Allen is married to the Sentinel’s community news coordinator, Tammy Gemaehlich. When he’s not working, he enjoys mountain biking, golf and tennis.
