Jon is a sports reporter for the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel who covers high school and Colorado Mesa University sports. He also takes photos and writes an occasional column, doing whatever is needed on a day-to-day basis.
Mesa State College, bachelor’s degree (2000) in mass communications with triple emphasis in news/editorial, broadcasting and public relations.
Jon is a Colorado Springs native. He’s worked at several newspapers during his career, including the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, the Greeley Tribune and The News Review in Roseburg, Oregon. He was a truck driver when the economy was bad from 2009 until 2013 but freelanced for the Glenwood and Grand Junction papers during that time.
Jon is extremely, happily married to his wife, April. They have a daughter, Kahlan. His hobbies include skiing, hiking, running, photography, playing with their dogs and spending time with his family.
