Lori grew up in Lake City, Iowa (where there’s no lake). Her newspaper career began as a college intern at The Ames Daily Tribune. After graduating from college, she joined The San Antonio Express News as a retail advertising salesperson, then was promoted to retail advertising Supervisor. Drawn to the mountains of Colorado, she began a 13-year career at The Denver Rocky Mountain News, progressing through a series of retail sales and classified management positions to assistant classified director. The opportunity to enjoy quality time instead of commute time at a newspaper dedicated to community news brought her to The Daily Sentinel in 2000.
Married to Pat, they have two “awesome boys,” Alec and Corey. They love all the outdoor activities available in western Colorado, including skiing, hiking and a little golf (when they have the patience).
