Joy assists department supervisors, sales reps and graphic artists with daily operations including scheduling ads, billing, virtual ad taker and problem solving. She also takes photos for ads including automotive, real estate and product shots.
Joy earned an associate’s degree in fine arts from Mesa College, now known as Colorado Mesa University. She has worked in the printing industry since the late ’70s when she started with Cowden Niehues Advertising, then worked at various print shops and newspapers from Grand Junction to Durango.
Joy grew up in Denver with a strong interest in all aspects of the arts as well as spending time at The Rocky Mountain News with her dad who retired after 32 years of working at “The Rocky.” She is convinced she has ink in her blood.
Although being outdoors is great here in western Colorado, Joy’s love of textiles draws her to sewing and knitting, as well as drawing and painting.
