Palisade High School has closed for the day after significant student and staff illnesses swept through the school.
The school closed at 10:30 a.m. and will also remain closed tomorrow.
According to School District 51, the closure will allow crews to deep clean the campus and minimize the spread of any illness.
The hope is to have the school back open on Monday, November 18.
D51 officials said they could not confirm the source or cause of the illness.
The school district made the following statement: “Student and staff health and safety is always a priority, and we feel that closing the school for cleaning, and to allow students and staff to rest and not continue to spread the illness, is in the best interest of the entire school staff and student population.”
