Mesa County Search and Rescue teams utilized the help of a CenturyLink helicopter Wednesday to assist in a death investigation along the face of the Book Cliffs east of Mount Garfield, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Searchers recovered the body of an adult man from a vehicle that was crashed in the area, though it’s not known how long the vehicle had been there, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The office is still investigating the crash, but said they’ve found nothing obviously suspicious about the circumstances so far.
Mesa County Coroner’s Office identified the man today as Harry Oxford, 47, of Palisade,
The sheriff’s office previously said they believe the incident is related to a missing person’s case from the Palisade Police Department. In that case, a man was reported missing on Nov. 8, and was last seen on Oct. 31.
