A man is dead and a suspect is in custody after a Thursday night stabbing in a rural part of Clifton, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff's Office reported this morning that the suspect accused of the stabbing is 36-year-old Sabrina Stevens of Clifton.
Stevens was arrested on suspicion of first degree assault and manslaughter, in addition to domestic violence, which is considered an enhancer to the charges.
The Mesa County Coroner’s Office reported this afternoon that the victim in the case is Andrew Hapoff, 39, identified in court today as Stevens' husband.
Deputies responded to the incident at roughly 9:05 p.m., which occurred at a residence in the 3400 block of F 3/4 Road.
Hapoff was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
Records in the case are under seal, due to the ongoing investigation.
