In 1948, Walter Dalby opened the
doors to one of the first accounting firms
in Grand Junction and western Colorado.
During the early years, the firm had a
large impact in the uranium and mining
industries. In fact, Dalby created many
of the accounting procedures used for
mining industry-wide. He also served on
the Tax Committee of the Colorado Mining
Association and wrote numerous articles
for mining industry publications.
Always looking for the best talent, Dalby
recruited Wes Wendland in 1955. Wes’s
uncompromising ethics, core values, and
focus on client relationships helped to set
the firm for future growth. Together, their
legacy built what is today the largest public
accounting firm headquartered in western
Colorado -Dalby, Wendland & Co., P.C.
