4-year-old children receive free books

Any Mesa County child the age of 4 can pick up a free copy of "Peguinaut!" through April 22 at Mesa County Libraries locations.

Copies of "Peguinaut!," written by Marcie Colleen and illustrated by Emma Yarlett, are being given away through the One Book Colorado program. The book is available in both English and Spanish.

It tells the story of "a small penguin who hatches a big idea for a trip to the moon," according to a news release from Mesa County Libraries.

"Family members are children's first and most important teachers, and the purpose of the One Book Colorado program is to encourage early literacy skills," the news release said.
