Bookstore hosts four area authors for signings

Barnes & Noble Booksellers will host four authors in three days to meet readers and sign copies of their books. Here is who you'll see at the store at 2451 Patterson Road:

■ Husband and wife Kevin L. Barclay and April Schulte will be at Barnes & Noble from 2–4 p.m. Friday.

Barclay is the author of "Take 10: You are ten seconds away from making a better decision," and Schulte is the author of "Save Your Life Now: Your Health is in Your Hands!"

■ Roaring Fork author Catherine O'Connell will be at the store from 2–4 p.m. Saturday. She has five novels: "The Last Night Out," "Well Read and Dead," "Well Bred and Dead," "Skins" and "First Tracks."

■ Joe Martelle, author of "The Robert Urich Storey: An Extraordinary Life," will be at the store from 2–4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

Share your work at Writers Night at The Art Center

Bring your own work to share at December's Writers Night.

Readings of three to five minutes will be featured from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Art Center, 1803 N. Seventh St. This event is free to attend.

Read a poem or a chapter or segment from a longer piece you've written.

Evening of poetry features three writers

Stop by "Three Amigos Evening of Poetry" from 6–8 p.m. Wednesday at Grand Valley Books, 350 Main St.

This event will feature local poets Luis Lopez, Frank Coons and John Nizalowski. There will be new work and previously published work presented during the evening, according to the bookstore.
