Accused cattle rustler topic of biography

Those interested in western history and good stories will likely find a book-signing featuring author Diana Allen Kouris to be an event not to miss.

Kouris will talk about her latest book, "Nighthawk Rising: A Biography of Accused Cattle Rustler Queen Ann Bassett of Brown's Park," at a book-signing at 6 p.m. Friday at Out West Books, 533 Main St.

Kouris used years of research, along with connections she had as a native of Brown's Park, to write this book about Bassett, who knew outlaws and lawmen alike.

Kouris also is the author of "The Romantic and Notorious History of Brown's Park" and "Riding the Edge of an Era: Growing Up Cowboy on the Outlaw Trail."
