The Grand Valley History Players are ready to get you excited for Colorado West Chautauqua.
To that end, you'll find Zelda Fitzgerald, Bob Hope, Minnie Pearl and Bea Arthur at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at the KAFM Radio Room, 1310 Ute Ave.
Tickets for An Evening With the Grand Valley History Players cost $10 and seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at kafmradio.org.
Famous as they were, there likely is still more to be learned about these icons of comedy and literature from the 20th century.
Fitzgerald will be portrayed by Kathy Applebee, Hope by Michael Hardesty, Pearl by Angeline Roles and Arthur by Marjorie Deese.
This evening also will give you a taste of what is coming with Colorado West Chautauqua on Sept. 13–14, which the history players also will be a part of.
With the theme "The Way it Was: The Baby Boom Years," Colorado West Chautauqua will offer portrayals of Walt Disney, Julia Child and Walter Cronkite in performances at Avalon Theatre.
In addition, George Gray and The Elvis Experience Band will perform Sept. 12 at Las Colonias Amphitheater in conjunction with the Chautauqua events.
Tickets for the concert and Colorado West Chautauqua can be found at ticketmaster.com.
