If you don't have your ticket for the Great West Winter Beer Fest, you better get a move on. There are only 1,000 tickets, and no tickets will be sold at the door.
This event goes from 4–8 p.m. Friday in the Maverick Pavilion at Colorado Mesa University. Tickets cost $35 and proceeds support student life clubs at the university.

Scenes are set
Bring on the costumes and make up, then the drama and music for a parade of scene snippets from seven operas and a one-act show.
Opera Scenes will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the Love Recital Hall in Colorado Mesa University's Moss Performing Arts Center, 1231 N. 12th St.
On the program are scenes from "La Boheme," "Werther," "The Pearl Fishers, "Die Fledermaus," "La Cenerentola," "The Ballad of Baby Doe" and "Susannah." The one-act show is "The Old Maid and the Thief" by Giancarlo Menotti.

If you're a fan of the big band sound, you won't want to miss this show.
The Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra will perform the first concert in its 2019–20 season from 7:30–9 p.m. Thursday at Warehouse 25Sixty-Five, 2565 American Way.
Dance or just listen and enjoy the talent of these local jazz musicians as they play both contemporary and classic jazz, big band music.
Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased in advance at gjso.org or at the door.
