Learn about the traditions, celebrations and food of Ukraine, Peru, France and many other countries during the 2019 celebration of Culture Fest.
This event will be Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1–2, at Mesa County Libraries' Central Library, 433 N. Sixth St. Admission is free.
Culture Fest will begin with a reception from 6:30–7:30 p.m. Friday for the 2019 Culture Fest Art Show.
The artwork in this jurried show — Meghan Bissonnette, a professor in the art department at Colorado Mesa University was the juror — will be displayed in the library's east gallery corridor.
The reception will include light refreshments and samples of the Mesa County Libraries Foundation's Well Read and The Grape Gatsby wines. There will be live music and the awards for the show will be presented at 7 p.m. The show's artwork can be viewed through Jan. 2.
Culture Fest will continue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with more than 16 countries respresented by local residents with ties to those countries, according to a news from Mesa County Libraries.
There will be cultural games and activities for children all day in the children's area of the library as well as entertainment in the Library's Community Room.
That Saturday entertainment schedule is as follows:
■ 11 a.m. — Nueva Generación Folklórico
■ 11:45 a.m. — Synthesis Irish Dance
■ 12:25 p.m. — Sultan's Pride Dance Troupe
■ 1:05 p.m. — Monumental Movement
■ 1:45 p.m. — Dancing Arts Ballet
■ 2:25 p.m. — Nine Province Kung Fu
