Bottom line: Diapers, wipes for babies

Local faith-based non-profit, Project 1:27, is sponsoring a diapers and wipes drive to benefit children in foster care served through the Mesa County Department of Human Services.

Diapers of all sizes — newborn through pull-ups — and wipes are being collected with the goal of 1,000 packages of diapers and wipes. Donations can be dropped off at First Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church, Life Community Church, Northeast Christian Church, Appleton Christian Church, and Crystal's Bridal and Formal Wear.

A delivery address can be provided for those ordering diapers through Amazon.

Musical night connects to spirituality

The Night Bird Band will present "A Sound Experience" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Unity of Grand Valley, meeting on the garden level of the Redlands Community Center, 2463 Broadway.

"Discover how sound can enhance your spiritual life and your connection to God. Scientific research of utilizing sound vibration to affect aspects of life supports this," a news release said.

"By bringing awareness of how you use words, what words you use, and the effects of those words, you can learn to change your experiences with others and life."

The event features original songs by Susan Cypher and Gretchen McGeeney with percussionist/vocalist Dave Cypher.
