All Souls/Saints Day to be celebrated

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Grand Valley will celebrate All Souls/Saints Day with an inter-generational service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Bring a memento (photo, a possession or a symbolic item) of loved ones you wish to remember this time of year. The congregation will also dedicate the memorial tree for Billie Sage in the garden.

Fresh Encounter conference planned

A Fresh Encounter conference will be offered Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 9–10, at Clifton Christian Church, 3241 F¼ Road.

Speaker, author and president of Harvest Prayer Ministries, David Butts, "will inspire, challenge and equip believers to pray more effectively and with more passion for the Church, community and nation," according to conference information.

The conference will be from 8 a.m.–noon Saturday, with coffee and snacks provided. Butts will speak again at 6:08 p.m. Saturday and at the 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services on Sunday.
