Favorite teacher and why: Mrs. Rhyne because she is funny and caring and is very clear in how she teaches. She made AP Calculus easy to learn and was always willing to take the extra step to help. She cares so much about her students in and out of school.
Personal hero and why: My parents because they are extremely kind and generous, and they have showed me how to persevere and work hard. They are both extremely selfless and I think that is very admirable.
Preferred college: University of Colorado, Boulder
Dream job: Neurologist
Highlight of your high school experience: Getting to know people through sports and spending time with friends. It's great to spend time with people who have the same interests as you.
Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of?
A: Qualifying individually for the state cross country meet my freshman year because it took so much hard work and practice time.
Q: If you were principal of your high school for a week, what would you do or change?
A: I would communicate with the student council on how to better support school spirit because I think school spirit is important in the environment of the school and can bring people together.
Q: If you could have dinner with one person, living or dead, who would you choose and why?
A: I would have dinner with Albert Einstein because I think it would be mind blowing to talk to someone so ingenious.
Q: If you could live anywhere or do anything for one year, what would you do and why?
A: I would travel around the world doing service work because I think helping others helps you grow a lot as a person and learning about different cultures is fun and helps you understand others' perspectives.
Q: What advice would you give to yourself as a freshman?
A: Don't stress so much! Everything will be ok if you keep working hard and have faith in yourself! Make sure you enjoy yourself sometimes!
