Truck theft alleged

A 40-year-old woman was arrested last week on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle.

Wendy Curry was behind the wheel of a truck at North 24th Street and Belford Avenue on Aug. 7 when a Grand Junction police officer ran the license plate and discovered that the vehicle had been reported as stolen.

Police confirmed that the truck was stolen from Valley Grown Nursery, according to an arrest affidavit.

Curry denied stealing the vehicle and said she borrowed it from a friend at an unknown address on the 500 block of 28½ Road, the affidavit said.

She was found to be in possession of methamphetamine weighing less than two grams, the affidavit said.

Curry was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and drug possession.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ A known juvenile is accused of third-degree assault and criminal mischief on Monday.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office:

■ Karl Clemons was cited on suspicion of DUI on Aug. 5.
