A 7-year-old girl who died Tuesday morning in the 3100 block of D½ Road is believed to have died as a result of pre-existing medical issues, according to the Mesa County Coroner.

The coroner announced the news in a release to media Wednesday morning.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the death, as they do in the case of any child, but spokeswoman Megan Terlecky said they do not suspect there was any foul play.
