Armed robbery in Montrose

A armed robbery reportedly occurred at a business in Montrose at 938 S. Townsend Ave. on Thursday morning.

Montrose Police Department began its investigation after receiving the initial call at 2:21 a.m. on Thursday, according to the press release.

Police say a male suspect dressed in all black with a multicolored bandana covering his face entered the business and stole from the register.

The suspect approached one of the employees with the firearm visible and directed them to the store's register, the affidavit states.

The suspect reportedly left the scene on foot before officers were alerted and they were unable to locate any persons in the area matching their description.

This remains an active investigation and the Montrose Police Department encourages anyone with information as to the identity of this suspect to call dispatch at 970-249-9110.

Highway shooting investigated

The Montrose County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that reportedly occurred on Tuesday at 10:22 p.m. in the area of mile marker 81 on U.S. Highway 50.

A woman and juvenile were driving northbound on Highway 50 when another vehicle allegedly drove up, rolled down a window and began shooting, according to the arrest affidavit.

The driver called 911 and police met her on Main Street in Delta.

The alleged suspect's vehicle was not located.

The victim suffered minor injuries from broken glass and the juvenile was unharmed, states the affidavit.

Police are searching for the suspect, believed to be in a white four-door sedan.

According to the Grand Junction Fire Department:

At 3:10 p.m. the Fire Department responded to a brush fire along the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Horizon Drive exit. No injuries were reported and the fire was out by 3:51 p.m.

■ James Ross, 57, was cited on suspicion of open public consumption of marijuana on Saturday.

■ Robert Timmins, 51, is accused of drug possession near the 2800 block of Brittany Drive on Monday.

■ Randal Heese, 41, is accused of trespass on the 300 block of First Street on Monday.

■ Michael Hoo, 27, is accused of trespass on the 300 block of Glenwood Avenue on Tuesday.

■ Junior Highline, 21, was cited on suspicion of DUI on Tuesday.

■ Kimberly Kadrich, 33, is accused of burglary-related charges on Wednesday.

According to the Montrose County Sheriff's Office:

■ Danny Eberly, 22, was cited on suspicion of domestic violence and third-degree assault on Wednesday.
