Orlando Vialpando, 50, is accused of second-degree assault and received a $5,000 cash-only bond from Mesa County Court on Monday.
A victim reported to police on Friday at around 10 p.m. that a man “came up to him and struck him once in the face and knocked out his teeth,” according to the arrest affidavit.
Police noted he was missing three front upper teeth when they met with him.
Later that night, police met with Vialpando and noted his hand appeared to show a visible injury consistent with it being used to strike someone. He was arrested on second-degree assault charges.
• Weston Richardson, 34, and Chelsea Rice, 28, accused of first-degree burglary for an incident that occurred on Thursday evening. Richardson received a $5,000 cash-only bond and Rice received a $2,000 personal recognizance bond on Monday.
A male victim reported Richardson and Rice entered his home without permission and assaulted him, according to the arrest affidavit.
• Trevor Kairis is accused of DUI and received a $2,000 person recognizance bond on Monday.
While the number of previous DUI convictions on his record was under debate during his arraignment hearing, 21st Judicial District Attorney Dan Rubinstein said “even if it’s not a felony. I still see a serious public safety risk.”
Kairis was involved in a car crash on Friday after failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign and was reportedly seen with several empty alcohol bottles in the front seat, according to the arrest affidavit.
Breath tests indicated he had a 0.269 blood alcohol content.
• Marie Luna-Flores, 42, is accused of DUI, with three or more prior convictions on her record, and received a $5,000 pr bond from Mesa County Court.
Rubinstein asked for a cash bond due to her posing a risk to the community at her arraignment hearing on Monday.
• A pickup truck was found to have struck a brick barrier wall off the east side of 29 Road north of Highway 50 on September 21 at about 2:45 a.m. Officers believe Luna was driving at the time of the crash, according to the arrest affidavit.
It appeared the truck had attempted to turn into the Orchard Mesa Market, but had turned 15 feet too late, and drove over the wall.
Luna later returned to the vehicle and was arrested on a DUI charge that evening, the affidavit said.
