Aaron Quinn, 41, is accused of third-degree assault on an at-risk adult and received a $2,500 cash or surety bond from Mesa County Court on Friday.
The victim reported a man he did not know, later identified as Quinn, "began yelling at him for no reason" and assaulted him in a local parking lot on Nov. 5, according to the arrest affidavit.
One witness reported seeing the assault from across the street. She said an aggressive man started screaming at another individual and threw him on the ground before someone else intervened.
Another witness reported seeing the end of the assault and followed the suspect after he took off from the scene.
Quinn was arrested that day when the witness, described as a "good Samaritan witness," followed him and pointed him out to law enforcement, the affidavit said.
Law enforcement reportedly found Quinn hiding in a field off 28 Road.
Quinn had been contacted by law enforcement six times between Oct. 12 and Nov. 6, according to the arrest affidavit.
